There is good news and bad news regarding BSL! If you are planning on traveling in Canada and/or the States, you need to be aware of local by-laws pertaining to breed specific legislation. Some places will require you to muzzle your dog (if it is on the BSL list) while other localities will seize your dog. Needless to say, this can cause you undue hardships and not to mention a good dose of trauma. The good news is there are a number of States that have prohibited local municipalities from passing BSL. This list may not be complete but here it is anyway. California, Colorado, Florida, Illinois, Maine, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Texas, Virginia. The second part of the good news is some jurisdictions have repealed their BSL, so with a good fight and an anti BSL campaign against the forces of ignorance, BSL can be repealed.
