Disclaimer Breed Specific Legislation Before you go traveling anywhere with your dog, check to see if your destination area prohibits your dog from visiting or what restrictions are in force.

If you are planning on traveling in Canada and/or the States, you need to be aware of local by-laws pertaining to breed specific legislation. Some places will require you to muzzle your dog (if it is on the BSL list) while other localities will seize your dog. The good news is there are a number of States that have prohibited local municipalities from passing BSL. This list may not be complete but here it is anyway. California, Colorado, Florida, Illinois, Maine, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Texas, Virginia. The second part of the good news is some jurisdictions have repealed their BSL, so with a good fight and an anti BSL campaign against the forces of ignorance, BSL can be repealed.
