Description: Not all seizures are a result of epilepsy but epilepsy does cause repeated seizures. Idiopathic epilepsy is a disease in which the cause is unknown. Certain breeds have hereditary dispositions to idiopathic epilepsy.

Contributing factors: Neurotransmitters (brain chemicals) do not fire properly. It is still a mystery as to why the neurotransmitters do not work in the manner they are suppose to.
